What’s New in Government Funding?
Starting from September 2024, the government has introduced significant changes to the childcare funding scheme:
- 15 Hours Per Week: Eligible working parents with children aged between 9 months and 2 years can now access up to 15 hours of free childcare each week.
- Up to 30 Hours Per Week: For parents of children aged 3 and 4 years, the entitlement allows for up to 30 hours of free childcare weekly.
These changes are a step forward in ensuring that parents can balance work and family responsibilities more efficiently while their children receive quality care and early education.
Plan Ahead for September 2025
Looking ahead, from 1st September 2025, the number of funding hours available for children aged 9 months to 2 years is set to increase further. We encourage parents to apply early to secure their place at Nuthall Nursery and benefit from the increased support.

Set Up Your Government Gateway Account
To access these funding benefits, you’ll need a Government Gateway account. Through this, you can also take advantage of the tax-free childcare scheme, which provides up to £500 every 3 months per child to help with childcare costs. Whether or not you use funded hours, this scheme can offer additional savings.
Sending Your Details to Nuthall Nursery
If you are eligible for government funding, you will receive a code through your Government Gateway account. To streamline the process:
- Email us your code along with your national insurance number and date of birth.
- Our management team will handle the rest and ensure your child’s funding is secured efficiently.
